You are responsible for the electrical equipment you use is being complete and in good condition.
You are also responsible for the electrical installations in your house. What did the estate agent say about the electrical installations in your house when you moved in? Consider that an old property may have electrical installations that are just as old as the property. It is a good idea to get somebody who can inspect the electrical installations of your property. This is not normally included in a property survey. Go to the Swedish Fire Protection Association’s website to learn more about authorised surveyors in your city.
Rented housing or housing cooperatives
A standard division of responsibility when you rent accommodation or live in a housing cooperative dwelling is that the landlord/association is responsible for the permanent electrical installations. If you detect damage or deficiencies you need to contact your landlord or association to get any fault rectified.
