Qualifications from the UK or the Netherlands
Electrician is not a regulated profession in the UK and the Netherlands. Applications relying on qualifications from an unregulated country are considered on the basis of the Act (2016:145) on the recognition of professional qualifications. Under the Act, if you have equivalent professional qualifications (necessary in order to work as an electrician in Sweden) from another EEA country or Switzerland, you can have them recognised in Sweden too.
If you have qualifications from the UK or the Netherlands, all documents (apart from the application form) must be submitted in the original language. You must also include a translation if the documents are not in English.
An application for Swedish authorisation will only succeed if you can show that you meet an education requirement and a practical experience requirement.
The following documents must be sent to the National Electrical Safety Board:

2. Education certificates
In order to meet the education requirement, your education must satisfy the theoretical requirements stipulated in the National Electrical Safety Board’s authorisation regulations.
So that the National Electrical Safety Board can assess your education, the application must be accompanied by the following:
- Copy of your official degree, diploma or qualification certificate, in the original language and in translation.
- Copy of your official personal academic record showing the content of your studies, in the original language and n translation.
Include a reference from the UK or the Netherlands confirming that you have been professionally active for at least one year in the past ten years.
If you are employed
The reference must state what kinds of electrical installation work you carried out and the period of employment with the company. The form specified by the National Electrical Safety Board must be used.
If you have your own company
If you have your own company, include copies of your company registration and a selection of invoices showing that the company has been operating for at least one year in the past ten years. The form specified by the National Electrical Safety Board must be used.

Your application will be assessed in accordance with the Act (2016:145) on the recognition of professional qualifications.
